Chances are that you are getting good rankings on Bing and Yahoo, but rankings in the Google is a sad story. You have gone through various updates, followed-up everything said by Google and Matt Cutts, still the story is the same.
2014 – The All New SEO Strategy
First of all let us summarize that what are the things that we need to do (as per the current SEO update in the market) as a part of our refreshed SEO strategy:
Blogging – Blogging is considered as the most important thing in today’s market. As per the Google “Content is the King”, and you should have quality content on your website. So first of all you have to write the all new SEO good quality content, and if you have written good quality content then you don’t won’t to pass on that content to others – Article submission websites, Press Release Submission Websites, Guest Blogging Websites. You have to create a blog site of your own, and submit / publish these quality blogs on your own website. Yet, remember 2 things (1) the content should have only 1 link (on the bottom preferably) navigating to your main website, & (2) the blog site should be integrated to your main website. For instance, your main website is www.example.com then your blog site should be www.example.com/blog (it is always good to write and publish at least 3 blogs a day. Yet, if this is something not achievable for you, then try to achieve 3 blogs a week, yet 3 a month is must)
B2B and Local Classified Submissions – Most people are using their smartphone devices these days to search for the things they want. The search engine automatically suggest them the things they need based on GPS / local area. These now applies to desktop search as well. Considering these aspects, it is now important that you should list your business on your local B2B and business directory. For e.g., if you are into HVAC business and based in the US, then Yelp (and other similar website) could be a good way to start with. Enter your business details in such directories, along with the local area, suburb, county / city / state, etc. This will ultimately help you to gain the all new SEO major boost in the search engine.
Google Authorship: Have you noticed that nowadays when you are searching for something on Google, you are able to see certain websites in the search listings that contains a small pic, along with a name. This is called Google Authorship, it authenticates that you are the owner of the website. The name is linked with your Google+ profile, and it also must be linked on all the blogs, press release submissions, and other such submissions posted by you (even if you are hiring Ghost Writers, do it). This way Google will recognize that you are the author of all the contents posted by you, along with the links placed in those contents. Get it? (I hope I am making a sense over here).
Infographics: Infographics, infographics, they are everywhere. Not to mention that you have to create them for yourselves as well.
Slide Sharing / PPT: As of now slides haring / PowerPoint presentation sharing also plays a major role. You can share these on Facebook, Twitter, Google+, and other social media channels. Uploading / Sharing up to 4 Slide Sharing / PPT is good.
YouTube Video: Now here is the part where most people get confused, as most people doesn’t have the tools to create the video. If this is something that bothers you as well, don’t worry, the PPT that you have created, you can also convert this PPT into Video and share it on YouTube. Uploading up to 4 YouTube video is good.
Extra: Apart from all the above there are also few other activities, which you could do on a minimum level, such as Press Release Submission, Guest Blogging on a reputable websites, etc. Ensure to maintain these on a very minimum level, hardly 1 or 2 in a span across 3 months.
2014 – SEO Things that You Should Stop Doing
- Article Submission: Don’t ask questions, just stop doing it. You can read a lots of blogs and articles regarding the same on MOZ, SEO Journal, Search Engine Land, etc.
- Guest Blogging: Reduce the count of Guest Blogging. Hardly 1 or 2 in a span across at least 3 months, and that too on a reputable website.
- Social Bookmarking and Directory Submissions: Stop doing it.
- Links: If you have submitted massive number of articles, press releases, social bookmarking and directory submissions than manually delete those links, all of them. Don’t depend on Google Disavow tool, as it can take anywhere from 1 month to 12 months for Google to remove those links.
2014 – SEO Conclusion – The All New SEO
Finally, even if you are doing all the above steps don’t expect a miracle that your website will regain rankings in 1 or 2 months. To be frank, even if you continue with the above things, it will take anywhere from 2 to 6 months from your website to recover from the past damages, and regain the rankings. Yet you can be rest assure as you will be proceeding towards a right direction, and your website will eventually regain the rankings for sure.
